Some time ago I took a character test.  I was skeptical (as I am with most things) that a simple test like this could be a very sharp analytical instrument, but the results (for me at least) appeared to be quite incisive.

My results showed that I was an
eNTp = Extraverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving
categorised by Keirsey as Rational & Inventor.

The description of which is fairly accurate, if a little flattering.

I don't think that either the 'e' or the 'N' traits are all that strong, so perhaps I was right to be skeptical after all, 16 groups can't be enough to describe everyone, next they will be telling us that everyone born in each month is the same as well.

Interested ??

For those people who know me I would be really interested in YOUR results, so please send them to me.

Online I have found a few tests some are better than others, the best at the moment is the HUMANMETRICS site.  The Keirsley site used to be good, but now makes you pay for your full results.

RECOMENDED TEST is currently on the HUMANMETRICS site.  I tried it and it gave almost exactly the same results that I got on my previous test.
Simple test explaining how to decide on your type, but relies on you being able to recognise your own characteristics. (I'm not sure that I would have got this right)
Insight Systems - Haven't tried this test yet, this looks like it sits somewhere between the above two tests.
Keirsley Test - More complex test that should be more perceptive, but only gives you part of the results for free.
And for a bit of fun you could try the Pooh-Piglet Psycometric Profile test.

There is more than one type of character test, the two that I have found are "Myers-Briggs" and the "Keirsey", they essentially try to categorise people in similar ways, but (of course) promoters of each of the tests would tell you they are different.  Both would appear to be derived from the work of Jung.

Let me know if you have any other interesting links on this subject!
