Why did I leave it this long to learn to ski. A
merry bunch of five (Kim Chris Rachel Richard and myself) set off for Tignes
(France) for a New Year ski. The flight (a mere hour) was fine but those
coach transfers to and from the resort are murder (six hours on the way back).
A great week, good company, good snow lots of exercise and fresh
air, and the opportunity to feel that you have taken at least one real risk each
day (especially Wednesday when I got taken down my first Black on my 4th day
skiing. Thanks guys).
I don't want to go back to work!!
Not many pictures, I really didn't take advantage of the best
weather in the first half of the week, and the second half was often in a bit of
a blizzard, I'll know for next time. Here are a few of the less blurred
ones.

The crêperie (pancake shop) in town, our lunchtime refuge. (Had tried the pizza shop
but the waitress there didn't like Rachel and myself)

What can I say, "Cool Dudes". Rachel and Darren on the

Richard serenading us all. (or was he working out the
chords to his act for New Years)

Chris in pensive mood (you can't blame him for having a
lot on his mind, we are all going to miss Kim).

The view from the hotel, you could ski all the way home.

The ski instructors performed a candle lit precession
down into town (we counted 54 tourches). Where they were handing out
hot chocolate with a bit of a kick. |

We all went out to watch at midnight, and there were
lots of them. |

There was a little bit of last night madness. This
