We are not regulars by any means but our department decided to enter a team in the Pershore Dragon Boat regatta on the river Avon.   This was the second event for some of the crew ( they also did the Worcester race ) and the first for the rest of us.

The river Severn at Worcester is a scenic place to practice, three sessions isn't exactly overdoing the training, but it did help.

Considering we were a crew only put together for the race we did well, and even beat some of the regular teams in the heats.  This put us into the minor final, where we triumphed by only a few feet, giving us fourth overall (we are the boat on the right).
